Discovering the Magic of Split, Croatia

Split, Croatia—a city where time seems to stand still. I had a short but unforgettable trip here with my family, and I instantly fell in love with Croatia's unique charm.

Split is a stunning mix of the old and the new. Walking around Diocletian's Palace feels like stepping back in time, with ancient Roman architecture and cobblestone streets. But Split also boasts a modern side, with lively cafes, stylish bars, great restaurants, gorgeous beaches, and boutique hotels tucked throughout the city.

The best part? Split is a destination you can enjoy all year round. When the weather’s warm, boat trips to nearby islands like Hvar and Brač are a must. And don’t miss out on the mesmerizing Blue Caves, or the chance to swim or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon near Trogir. For nature lovers, there are also breathtaking day trips to Krka Waterfalls and Plitvice National Park, both easily accessible from Split by coach.

I’d been dreaming of visiting Croatia for years, and I’m so glad I finally made it. So if there’s a place you’ve been meaning to see—go ahead, book it! 😁💙

Crossing the Border: Bosnia and Herzegovina

Just a short drive from Croatia lies Bosnia and Herzegovina, a hidden gem in the heart of the Balkans. It’s not your typical tourist destination, but it’s full of surprises.

Our journey took us through picturesque countryside and mountainous landscapes, passing small, charming villages until we reached Kravica Waterfalls. This natural wonder is a must-see, with cool waters cascading down—perfect for a refreshing dip, if you’re brave enough to handle the chill! My kids, of course, didn’t hesitate.

From Kravica, we drove on to Mostar, a city that’s rich with history and culture. The centerpiece of Mostar is the iconic Stari Most, or "Old Bridge." Though rebuilt after the civil war, it remains a symbol of resilience and unity. We had lunch overlooking the scenic Neretva River, then wandered through the Turkish-style bazaars, immersing ourselves in the vibrant, diverse atmosphere of this remarkable city.

I’m so grateful we made time to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina—it was a memorable experience that added so much depth to our trip.
